Area Teams Compete at Tuscola Invite, Neoga's Johnson Wins

TUSCOLA -- Several area teams did well at the Tuscola Cross Country Classic in boys and girls action Saturday.

In the boys meet, Urbana University won with 67 points followed by Cumberland 98, Tuscola 108, Clinton 116, Effingham St. Anthony 156, Downs Tri-Valley 174, Neoga 192, Tolono Unity 207, Fairbury Prairie Central 223, Hutsonville 273,  Maroa-Forsyth 279, Paris 281, Sullivan 284, Judah Christian 379, Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City 399 and Bement 470.

Winning the meet was Neoga's Reece Johnson with a time of 16:18.0. St. Anthony's top runner was Brian Dust 14th in 17:18.8. Cumberland's Kort McClellan took seventh in 16:44.2 while Blake Sutherland finished 10th in 17:04.9.

In the girls meet, Tolono Unity won with 34 points followed by Urbana University 65, Neoga 153, Maroa-Forsyth 167, Fairbury Prairie Central 172, Paris 205, Downs Tri-Valley 208, Cumberland 213, Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City 219, St. Anthony 233, Tuscola 276, Judah Christian 276, Moweaqua Central A&M 293 and Clinton 328.

Tolono Unity's Jordan Harmon won with a time of 18:01.66. Cumberland's Jasmyn Dittamore was sixth in 19:30.79. St. Anthony's Sarah Carr took 10th place in 19:50.27.
