Anna Sophia Keller Claims 4th Class A State Cross Country Championship

St. Anthony Sr. Anna Sophia Keller has set a mark nobody will ever top as she has won the Class A Girls State Cross Country Championship for the 4th time in her high school career. Her time of 16:32 at Detweiller Park in Peoria was good enough to win the title by 48 seconds as she finished ahead of Pana's Claudia Magnussen's time of 17:20 who was second. 

Neoga Sophomre Emmalyn Walk finished with a time of 18:50 which put her in 50th and Teutopolis Junior Kara Weichman came home 55th with a time of 18:55. 

There were 214 runners in the competition and St. Joseph- Ogden was the top team.

 

In Class A Boys Cross Country action Cumberland sophomore Kort McClellan was 12th out of the field of 209 runners. His time of 15:22 was just less than a minute off the pace of 14:23 by Rock Falls Brayden Hamblen who was the champion.

Elgin is the Class A team champions.
