Anna Sophia Keller Wins Cumberland Invite

TOLEDO -- Effingham St. Anthony's Anna Sophia Keller captured first place in the Cumberland Cross Country Invitational Saturday with a time of 17:25.41.
The Bulldogs finished in third place with 84 points. St. Joseph-Ogden won the girls invitational with 30 points followed by Tolono Unity 40, St. Anthony 84, Neoga/Stewardson-Strasburg 123, Paris 136, Sullivan-Okaw Valley 156 and Cumberland 170. Not scoring but having runners were Altamont, Chrisman, Dieterich, Rantoul, Tuscola and Tri-County.
Runners for St. Anthony, along with Keller, were Sarah Carr 10th in 19:23.55, Kristin Slaughter 20th in 20:51.69, Katherine Slaughter 26th in 21:26.09, Kendall Fonner 27th in 21:32.89, Rachel Wortman 39th in 23:41.57 and Kaitlyn Zeller 43rd in 25:00.47.
Runners for Neoga/Stewardson-Strasburg were Emmalyn Walk 16th in 20:18.99, Courtney Reel 18th in 20:42.64, Cheyenne Curry 25th in 21:21.50, Allison Kingery 30th in 22:33.29, Rachel Ewing 35th in 22:58.30, Makenzie Hill 40th in 24:07.34 and Ashley Dryden 44th in 25:09.44.
Scoring for Cumberland were Victoria Ault 21st in 21:01.59, Breanne Edwards 29th in 22:26.53, Elise Hemmen 34th in 22:54.89, Zoe Marti in 41st in 24:10.98 and Elan Brown 45th in 26:24.27.
Altamont's Sydney Zacha was 55th in 26:54.35.
Dieterich's Gracie Britton was 37th in 22:54.83, Kaitlyn Bloemer was 49th in 24:40.72 and Mikala Klay was 59th in 38:55.41.
In the boys' meet, St. Joseph-Ogden was the team champion with 67 followed by Tuscola 110, Tolono Unity 111, Sulilvan-Okaw Valley 124, Cumberland 132, Chrisman 175, Villa Grove-Heritage 177, Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond 181, Hutsonville 192 and Neoga/Stew-Stras 230. Rantoul, Tri-County and Danville Schlarman did not have enough runners for a team score.
Runners for Cumberland were Kort McClellan third in 15:46.35, Blake Sutherland 14th in 16:50.86, Michael Carpenter 24th in 17:34.20, Zac Heath 42nd in 19:06.96, Jay Stierwalt 49th in 19:18.29, Nick Dill 52nd in 19:22.41 and Joel Heynen 86th in 22:24.75.
Runners for Neoga/Stew-Stras were Brady Hansen 32nd in 18;05.40, Brody Titus 35th in 18:37.13, Tanner Clark 39th in 18:53.12, Blake Ballinger 61st in 19:38.16, Michael Dietz 63rd in 19:41.98, Alex Alden 66th in 19:46.91 and Braden Eaton 72nd in 20:18.56.
