EHS Takes Triangular C.C. Meets, Dieterich Claims Two

ALTAMONT -- Effingham High School captured both a boys and a girls triangular cross country meet at the Ballard Nature Center Tuesday.

The Hearts won the girls meet with 31 points followed by Neoga 32 and Altamont 82. Effingham's Alexis Monnet led the way with a time of 21:27. Neoga's Emmalyn Walk took second in 22:25.

Also scoring for EHS were Meredith Kull third in 23:13, Brianna Schmidt eighth in 25:11, Hope Monnet ninth in 25:14 and Ashlyn Hanks 10th in 26:15.

In the boys meet, Jacob Donaldson took first for the Hearts with a time of 18:25. EHS tallied 19 points for the win over Neoga 40. Altamont did not have enough runners for a team score.

Also scoring for the Hearts were Brett Koester third in 20:04, Brady Mapes fourth in 20:13,  Isayah Goss fifth in 20:14 and Patrick Sherrod sixth in 20:33.

At Dieterich

Dieterich claimed both the boys and girls meets over North Clay (Louisville) Tuesday. Only four runners were scored.

Dieterich won the boys meet 14-22. North Clay's Lane Holkenbrink won the meet in 17:43. Dieterich then took the next four spots as Brandon Mahnke came across in 17:55, Adam Slifer in 18:07, Ethan Kidd in 19:15 and Evan Kuhl in 19:22.

In the girls meet, Dieterich's Gracie Britton won in 21:58 followed by Katilyn Bloemer in second in 23:59 and Andrea Bierrman third in 24:14. There was no name listed for the eighth place runner in 39:06.
