Newton Wins Boys Meet, EHS Girls Meet in Cross Country

NEWTON -- Newton High School claimed the boys meet victory with 19 points followed by Effingham with 41 in cross country action Tuesday.

Newton's Joe Stone won with a time of 16:46. Effingham's Jacob Donaldson took second in 16:52. The Eagles then claimed the next four spots.

Effingham captured the girls meet with 18 points followed by Newton with 37.

Effingham's Miranda Fox claimed the meet with a time of 18:47. The Hearts then took the next three spots and finished out scoring with an eighth place finish.
