This week's Illinois high school basketball polls feature several area teams.

In the boys ratings in Class 3A, Effingham got four votes to tie for 16th.  The Hearts got some votes after finishing third at the Salem Tournament with wins over Marion and Mt. Vernon and a competitive loss to Centralia over the weekend.  Centralia is #11 this week.

In Class 2A, Newton received seven votes to tie for 14th.

In Class 1A, Altamont got three votes to tie for 19th.

On the girls side in Class 3A, undefeated Effingham is finally getting some respect, receiving 13 votes to earn 12th place, and just four votes out of the Top 10.

In Class 2A, the Teutopolis Lady Shoes are rated fourth, the same spot as the previous week.  The Lady Shoes take on the Lady Hearts at Effingham Friday night, a game we'll have on KJ Country 102.3 and www.kjcountry.com.

In Class 1A, the Neoga Lady Indians got a vote.
