Flora, Oblong, Marshall, Robinson Advance in LIC Tourney

Flora, Oblong, Marshall and Robinson claimed victories in the consolation bracket at the Little Illini Conference Boys Basketball Tournament Monday evening.

Flora claimed a 77-42 victory over Hutsonville/Palestine. Oblong was a 64-57 winner over Edwards County (Albion). Marshall handed Red Hill (Bridgeport) a 56-36 loss.

Robinson downed Cumberland 54-23. The Maroons took a 26-4 opening quarter lead and never looked back. Bopp scored 14 and Akande 12 for the winners. Cumberland was led by Beard with six.

Flora will take on Oblong at 6 p.m. Wednesday while Marshall faces Robinson at 7:30. In winner bracket action tonight, Newton faces Casey-Westfield at 6 followed by Olney against Lawrenceville at 7:30.
