Triad Wins James Burke Tournament

Troy Triad won the championship game of the 66th Annual James Burke Memorial Tournament at Greenville Friday night.

Triad defeated Carlyle in a close one 41-39 for the championship.

Effingham won the third place game 41-33 over crosstown rival St. Anthony. St. Anthony held a 9-6 opening quarter lead and led 17-16 at halftime. Effingham came back with a 15-9 third quarter run and outscored the Bullpups 17-12 in the final period.

Hull and Sandifer led the Mustangs with 15 points each. Hull had six steals. Effingham improves to 16-3. Levitt and Hull pulled down eight rebounds each. Nuxoll tallied 13 and Walsh 10 for St. Anthony.
