Effingham St. Anthony traveled to Altamont and the eighth-grade boys basketball team beat the homestanders 49-40.

Jack Nuxoll and Alex Beesley scored in double figures with 17 and 11 points respectively. Altamont was led by Brown with 14. St. Anthony now sports an 11-4 record.

At Salem

Salem Franklin Park edged Teutopolis not once, but twice in action Thursday evening.

Salem won the seventh-grade contest 61-60 in triple overtime. Salem held a 28-18 halftime lead before T-town came back to knot the score and send it into overtime. Dawson Smith tallied 27 for T-town and Josh Hardiek had 14.

In the eighth-grade contest, Salem again edged T-town, this time 38-37 in regulation time. Lee Hardiek scored 14 and Collin Funneman 10 for the Shoes.

At Windsor

Windsor and Stewardson-Strasburg shared victories. Windsor was a 36-19 winner in seventh-grade action. Beck tallied 11. Stew-Stras was led by Tabbert with seven. Stew-Stras drops to 4-14.

In eighth-grade play, Stew-Stras won 60-11. Thies scored 20 and Hansen 11 as Stew-Stras improved to 12-3.

Junior Midland Trail Conference Tournament

In the consolation championship Thursday evening, Cisne downed Noble 40-14.

South Central handed Clay City a 36-26 loss to claim third place. The tournament championship went to Olney St. Joseph over North Clay (Louisville), 38-30.
