Effingham St. Anthony took on Shelbyville Thursday evening and fell in eighth-grade boys basketball action, 26-24.
Shelbyville jumped out to an 8-0 first quarter lead and then had a 14-3 final period run after the Bullpups had taken a 23-10 lead going into that final quarter. Turner Paller led the winners with 14 points.
Leading St. Anthony was Alex Deters with 11.

Teutopolis claimed two victories over Stewardson-Strasburg. T-town won the seventh-grade contest 40-11.
Twelve players scored for T-town led by Dawson Smith with eight points. Burton led Stew-Stras with six points.
In eighth-grade play, T-town B was a 38-24 winner over Stew-Stras. T-town took a 14-5 opening quarter lead and had a 12-4 final period run. Ian Addis tallied 14 and Will Schlink 10. Kramer led Stew-Stras with seven.
