San Diego State Holds Off San Diego

Xavier Thames tallied a team-high 17 points, including four clutch free throws in the final minute that helped No. 24 San Diego State hold off San Diego, 65-64, Thursday at Jenny Craig Pavilion.


Illinois Faces Auburn

(Atlanta, GA) -- The Illinois Fighting Illini and Auburn Tigers take the floor on Sunday from Philips Arena in the Atlanta Showcase. The game tips at 3 p.m. local time on ESPN3. Illinois is coming off its first loss of the season, a three-point setback to the Yellow Jackets in Atlanta Tuesday. The Tigers are 4-2 on the season.


College Basketball Roundup

Other local men's college basketball teams are also on the hardwood this weekend. DePaul is on the floor tonight hosting Arizona State at Allstate Arena.  The Blue Demons are 4-and-3 compared to ASU's mark of 7-2. The Northwestern Wildcats welcome in Western Michigan to Welsh-Ryan Arena on Saturday evening.  The Wildcats are 4-5 while the Broncos are 5-2. Also in action tomorrow is Notre Dame. The Fighting Irish clash with Delaware in the Gotham Classic from Purcell Pavilion. Both teams have five wins on the year.
