Bulls Hammer Heat
(Chicago, IL) -- Carlos Boozer scored a game-high 27 points to go with nine rebounds as the Bulls hammered the Heat 107-87 at the United Center. Joakim Noah racked up 17 points and 15 rebounds, while Luol Deng added 20 points for the Bulls, who won for just the second time in their last eight games. Taj Gibson had 19 points and six boards off the bench in the victory. LeBron James scored 21 points and Michael Beasley had 15 off the pine for Miami, which has lost two in-a-row on the heels of a 10-game winning streak. Norris Cole chipped in with 12 points and six assists in defeat.
Injured Chicago Bulls star Derrick Rose isn't ruling out a return to the court this season. He told reporters Thursday that if his surgically repaired knee is healthy enough and the situation is right, he could be back for the playoffs. The Bulls previously ruled Rose out for the season after he tore a meniscus in his right knee November 22. He had surgery a few days later. Rose missed all of last season with a torn ACL in his left knee.
Knicks Win Battle Of New York
(Brooklyn, NY) -- The Knicks grabbed a much needed win by pounding the Nets, 113-83, at the Barclays Center behind 19 points, 10 rebounds and six assists from Carmelo Anthony. The victory ended New York's nine-game losing streak. Iman Shumpert drained five from behind the arc on his way to 17 points. New York sunk 16-of-17 from behind the arc. Brooklyn's struggles continued, falling for the fourth time in the last five games. Brook Lopez had a game-high 24 points in the loss. Joe Johnson was the only player in double figures for Brooklyn with 13 points.
Clippers Romp Grizzlies
(Memphis, TN) -- The Clippers used a balanced scoring effort to cruise past the Grizzlies, 101-81, at the FedExForum. Chris Paul, Darren Collison and Jamal Crawford each put up 15 points, while Blake Griffin added 14, nine rebounds and five assists. Los Angeles ended a two-game losing streak by outscoring the Grizzlies by 22 in the second half. Kosta Koufos had 17 points and nine rebounds in the loss. Memphis shot 38-percent from the field and turned the ball over 17 times. Memphis fell back to .500 at 9-9.
