EDWARDSVILLE -- For the second consecutive season, SIUE basketball fans across the Midwest will be able to follow the Cougars on television.

SIUE Athletics and FOX Sports Midwest have renewed their agreement to televise SIUE Cougar men's basketball on the regional sports network that also features St. Louis Cardinals baseball and St. Louis Blues hockey among other programs.

The deal, which began with a five-game television package during the 2012-2013 season, has expanded to include seven games during the 2013-2014 season, beginning with the Cougars' home opener Wednesday against Saint Louis.

"We are excited to partner with Fox Sports Midwest this season," SIUE Director of Athletics Dr. Bradley Hewitt said. "This is not only a great opportunity to showcase our basketball program but also an opportunity to highlight those who help make SIUE the special place that it is; the student body, faculty and staff."

In addition to the Cougars television package, the Ohio Valley Conference office has included the March 1 SIUE home game against Eastern Illinois in its schedule. That game also will air on FOX Sports Midwest.  All eight games will air live.

"We're pleased to again bring SIUE basketball to viewers throughout the region," said FOX Sports Midwest Senior Vice President and General Manager Jack Donovan.  "Cougar basketball is part of a jam packed winter programming lineup on FOX Sports Midwest, alongside Blues hockey and NBA and college hoops."

The Voice of the Cougars, Joe Pott will team with Pat Parris on the broadcasts.
