T-town Junior High Wins Three Shootout Girls Games, BCCH Third In NTC Tourney

Teutopolis picked up three victories in its own junior high girls basketball shootout Saturday.

T-town won a seventh-grade game over Champaign Franklin 27-16. Olivia NIemerg tallied 11 points. In eighth-grade play, T-town won over Champaign Franklin 30-17. Macy Michels led the way with 15 points.

Champaign Franklin then beat Decatur Robertson 26-15 in seventh-grade play. Decatur Robertson won the eighth-grade game 33-21.

T-town then beat Decatur Robertson 39-4 in the seventh grade game to improve to 9-2. Morgan Mette scored 10 for the winners. In the eighth-grade game, Decatur Robertson won 35-30. Marianna Hemmen tallied 10 for T-town. T-town is now 6-5 in eighth-grade action.

National Trail Conference Tournament

Beecher City/Cowden-Herrick captured third place in the National Trail Conference Seventh-Grade Girls Tournament Saturday. No information was provided on the champoinship and consolation championship games.

BCCH held a 15-12 halftime lead and went on for a 24-19 victory over Stewardson-Strasburg/Windsor. Wojcik tallied 11 and Endsley 10 for the winners. Schlechte led Stew-Stras/Windsor with 11.

BCCH improves to 10-4 on the season.

At Oblong

Jasper County picked up seventh and eighth grade wins in the LEIC Tournament Saturday.

Jasper County won the seventh-grade game over Robinson 31-19. Josie Grunloh tallied eight points.

In eighth-grade play, Jasper County defeated Red Hill (Bridgeport) 38-13. Abby Frohning scored 13 for the winners.

Jasper County is back in action Monday against Oblong in seventh-grade play and the winner of the Casey-Westfield vs. Cumberland contest in eighth-grade action.
