St. Anthony Junior High and Jasper County split girls basketball victories Thursday evening in Teutopolis Tournament action.

St. Anthony won the seventh-grade contest 26-11 to improve to 5-3. Meg Richards led the way with nine points. Mallory Bergbower led Jasper County with six.

In eighth-grade action, Jasper County was a 32-16 winner. Abby Frohning tallied 11 for the winners. Richards led St. Anthony (1-5) with seven.

At Newton

At Teutopolis

In Teutopolis Tournament games, Effingham picked up two victories over T-town. The Mustangs won the seventh-grade game 40-3. Fearday tallied 14 for the winners. Emma Deters led T-town with two.

In eighth-grade play, Effingham was a 23-14 winner. Barr tallied 13 for the Mustangs. T-town was led by Marianna Hemmen with six.

The tournament continues tonight.

Sigel St. Michael captured two wins over Effingham Sacred Heart. St. Michael won the seventh-grade contest 25-24. S. Bueker tallied eight for the winners. Webster scored 12 for Sacred Heart.

In eighth-grade play, St. Michael won 38-26. Jansen scored 17 and J. Bueker 10 for St. Michael. Sacred Heart was led by Mills with nine.

Pana Sacred Heart defeated Stewardson-Strasburg/Windsor in both games.

Sacred Heart won the seventh-grade game 23-18. SS/Windsor drops to 8-2. Davis led Stew-Stras/Windsor with 10 points.

In eighth-grade action, Pana Sacred Heart won 36-6. Everett led Stew-Stras/Windsor with four points and drops to 0-8.

Brownstown/St. Elmo defeated Dieterich in both games Thursday evening.

In seventh-grade play, Brownstown/St. Elmo was a 23-18 winner. High scorer for Dieterich was Andrea Bierman with 10.

In eighth-grade action, Brownstown/St. Elmo won 38-25. Anna Shadle and Lauren Garbe had seven points each for Dieterich.
