T-town Beats St. A in Junior High Girls Basketball Action, Area Roundup

Teutopolis claimed two junior high girls basketball victories over Effingham St. Anthony Thursday evening.

T-town won the seventh-grade contest 30-23. Emma Deters led the winners with nine points. Clare McHugh led St. Anthony with eight. The game was the season opener for T-town. St. Anthony drops to 1-1.

In eighth-grade play, T-town won 25-15. Macy Michels tallied 12 points for the winners. Maryann Sava nailed six points for St. Anthony. The Bullpups drop to 1-1 while it was the season opener for T-town.

At Brownstown

Stewardson-Strasburg/Windsor and Brownstown/St. Elmo split victories in National Trail Conference action.

Stew-Stras/Windsor won the seventh-grade encounter 19-16 to improve to 1-0 in the conference, 2-0 overall. Schlechte had 13 points for the winners. Wilhour and Reynolds led Brownstown/St. Elmo with six each.

In eighth-grade play, Brownstown/St. Elmo won 45-26. Dana Shelton tallied 17 and Veramontes 13. Everett led Stew-Stras/Windsor (0-1, 0-2) with 16.
