Altamont Girls Win Jr. High Basketball Tourneys

VANDALIA -- Altamont's seventh- and eighth-grade girls basketballs teams captured the championships of the Vandalia Tournaments Friday.

Altamont's seventh-grade team defeated host Vandalia 30-15 in the title contest to improve to 3-0. Joanna Schultz tallied 14 points for the winners.

In eighth-grade play, Altamont defeated Pocahontas 25-20. Shelbi Stone had nine points and Karsyn Wolff eight for Altamont.
