NTC Beats LPC In Central Il All-Star Boys Basketball Game

The NTC edged out to a 34-30 first half lead. St. Anthony's Ryan Schmidt connected on two regular baskets and two three-pointers for 10 in the period. Dieterich's Landen Keck put in three baskets for six. 

Camden Watkins of Sullivan tallied nine points for the LPC in that opening half.

The National Trail Conference then came out offensively, gunning in 61 second half points. St. Anthony's Sam Link tallied 15 while Dieterich's Lucas Westendorf finished with 11 and Dieterich's Landen Keck hit for 10.

Five players tallied in double figures for the National Trail Conference. Keck led the way with 16 points on seven field goals, one a three-pointer and one of one at the line. He was named the NTC Most Valuable Player.

Link tallied 15 on six field goals, three of those from three-point range, all in the second half while Westendorf chipped in with 14 and Jackson Gurgel of Windsor/Stewarson-Strasburg and Schmidt ended with 12 each. Gurgel finished as the three-point champion.

The Lincoln Prairie Conference had only one player in double figures. Watkins finished with 14 points on five field goals, three of those from beyond the arc, and one of two at the line. He was named the LPC Most Valuable Player.
