The Bulldogs trailed Central Catholic 12-3 after the opening quarter. St. Anthony scored all three points from the free throw line as Samuel Link put in two and Keenan Griffith hit one.
But St. Anthony came roaring back with a 23-10 second quarter run to lead 26-22 at halftime. Brock Fearday connected on five baskets, one from three-point range, and hit a free throw for 12 points while Ryan Schmidt nailed two baskets, one a three-pointer, and was three of three at the line for eight points in the quarter.
Central Catholic then had a 9-7 third quarter edge to pull within 33-31. Link hit a three-pointer while Griffith put in two free throws and B. Fearday a basket for the lone Bulldog points.
In the final period, Central Catholic kept the momentum and had a 14-11 edge to take the win. The squad did not shoot a free throw throughout the whole game.
B. Fearday led St. Anthony with 17 points on seven field goals, one a three-pointer, and was two of three at the line. Schmidt chipped in with 14.
St. Anthony was a 63-57 winner in junior varsity play. Miles Waldhoff scored 20 points while Will Bierman added 17.

At St. Elmo
Altamont took the opening quarter lead and went on for a 58-43 victory over St. Elmo/Brownstown Friday evening.
The Indians held a 36-20 halftime lead. Cooper McManaway scored six in the opening quarter 13-10 lead. Kade Milleville then went on a scoring spree, htiting a basket and was eight of nine at the line for 10 points while Zaine Miller hit two three-pointers and Parker Bell scored one from beyond the arc and the Indians led 36-20 at halftime.
Altamont then had a 12-9 third quarter. SEB came back with a 14-10 final period as Landon Wilhour connected for eight of those points but the game had already been decided.
Milleville finished with 17 points for Altamont on three field goals and 11 of 13 at the line. Miller added 13 points and Ben Roedl finished with 12. Altamont imrpoved to 5-1 in the National Trail Conference and 15-11 overall.
St. Elmo/Brownstown's Graidon Wilhour broke the program's single season three-point field goals made record. He now has 76 made three's on the season. He surpassed the previous record of 73 held by Jarrett Pasley in 2022-23. He finished with 19 on the six three's and one of two at the line.
The Eagles are 1-5 in the NTC and 12-14 overall on the season and return to play today against Oblong/Palestine/Hutsonville.
In the junior varsity contest, Altamont claimed a 50-39 victory. Jacob Johnson scored 22 while Cooper Pals added 10.
St. Elmo/Brownstown was led by Lucas Powell with 13.

At Cowden
Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg took the opening quarter lead and went on to down Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City as two National Trail Conference teams met, 52-39 Friday.
Windsor/Stew-Stras held an 18-10 lead and pushed that to 34-16 at halftime.
Jackson Gurgel led the way with 16 points on seven field goals, two from three-point range. Brody Bible added 14 and Rylan Rincker finished with 13.
Windsor/Stew-Stras is now 16-12 on the season and 3-3 in the National Trail Conference.
The Bobcats were led by Remington Howell, Griffin Vaughn and AJ Radloff with eight points each.
In the junior varsity contest, Windsor/Stew-Stras won 49-22.
The Hatchets will be back in action Thursday hosting Altamont.

At Toledo
Cumberland edged Unity Christian by a 55-53 count during Friday evening play.
Unity Christian took a 17-11 opening quarter lead and led 30-20 at halftime. The Pirates' Devin Stewart hit two three-pointers in the opening quarter for Cumberland while Kelby Bierman finished with five.
Cameron Roedl scored five of the team's nine points in the second period as the Pirates trailed 30-20 at halftime.
But the Pirates mounted a third quarter run with an 18-12 lead to pull within 42-38. Kaleb Bierman, who hadn't scored in the first half, put in seven points while Stewart connected on another three-pointer.
Then in the final period, Kaleb Bierman went on a seven point run while Kelby Bierman added five and Stewart hit his fourth three-pointer and the Pirates had a 17-11 run to claim the victory.
Ke. Bierman scored 18 points on seven field goals and four of five at the line. Ka. Bierman added 14 and Stewart 12.

Newton stepped out to an 11-2 opening quarter lead on Richland County, Olney and went on for a 47-40 victory Friday.
The Eagles led 25-18 at halftime and had a 5-4 third quarter edge.
Lance Volk led the Eagles with 13 points on five field goals, three from beyond the arc. Kody Bergbower chipped in with 11.
Quincy Fulton led Newton in rebounds with eight.
The Eagles are now 9-16 on the season.

Oblong/Palestine/Hutsonvile came calling and picked up a 50-38 victory over Neoga Friday evening.
Neoga held a 9-8 opening quarter lead as four players contributed points.
But OPH came back with a 10-4 second period to lead 18-13 at halftime.
OPH then had a 16-13 third period to lead 39-26 and finished out with a 16-12 final quarter.
Neoga was led by Luke Keller with 16 points on five field goals, four from three-point range, and two of two at the line. Grady Haarmann added 10.

South Central traveled to Mulberry Grove and fell, 67-55 in a non-conference contest Friday evening.
The Cougars held a 10-7 opening quarter lead as Westin Neilson scored a three-pointer and Seth Bergmann connected on two baskets.
But the Aces came roaring back with a 19-7 second quarter to lead 26-17 at halftime.
South Central mounted a comeback with a 16-13 third period to pull within 39-33. Jalen Smith scored six points on three baskets and Neilson also scored six on two three-pointers.
But Mulberry Grove finshed strong with a 28-22 final period, hitting 14 of 22 free throws.
South Central was led by Brody Markley with 21 points on six field goals and nine of 12 at the line. Neilson ended with 20 on six three-pointers and two of two at the line.
