Maroons, Cardinals Win In Boys H.S. Basketball

DIETERICH -- Four players hit double figures as Dieterich High School trounced Robinson, 66-45 in boys basketball competition Thursday evening.

 

The Movin' Maroons ran out to a 25-10 opening quarter lead behind Lucas Westendorf's four baskets and two free throws for 10 points and Landen Keck's four baskets that included two three-pointers, also for 10 points

Keck and Jaxon Funneman scored five each in the second quarter 20-8 run as Dieterich led 45-18 at halftime.

Robinson came back to outscore the Maroons in the second half 27-21 but that first half put the game away.

Dieterich was led by Keck with seven baskets, three of those three-pointers, for 17. Westendorf followed with 16 points on five field goals and a perfect six of six at the line. Brock Niemerg tallied 11 and Bryce Bohnoff 10.

At Louisville

North Clay (Louisville) handed Fairfield a loss in high school basketball action Thursday evening.

The Cardinals won the varsity contest 62-40 to improve to 19-9 on the season.

In the junior varsity contest, North Clay was a 50-41 winner.

North Clay is back in action Saturday facing Macon Meridian in the NTC/CIC Shootout at Altamont High School at 2:30 p.m.
