CHBC, Dieterich Claim Girls Basketball Wins, BSE Falls

BROWNSTOWN -- Paris High School had a 29-10 second half scoring surge to outdistance Brownstown/St. Elmo by a 53-31 count in girls basketball action Tuesday evening.

The Tigers held a slight 15-14 opening quarter lead.  Addie Sasse and Madi Miller kept the Bombers close with six points each.

Paris continued on with an 8-7 second period to lead 23-21 at halftime.

Danika  Ramsey connected on a three-pointer for the Bombers while Miller added on four more points.

But the Tigers took over in the second half with a 16-4 third quarter as Watson nailed four baskets, two of those three-pointers and was two of two at the line for 12 in the quarter after scoring only five in the first half.

The Tigers continued on with a 13-6 final period as Smith took over with six points.

Haslett had five of the six points for the Bombers.

Miller was the lone player for BSE to finish in double figures with 13 on four field goals and five of eight at the line.

At Cowden

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City claimed a victory over South Central as two National Trail Conference teams met Tuesday evening.

The Bobcats came out a 62-48 winner. CHBC held a 15-6 openiing quarter lead and led 29-24 at halftime as the Cougars came back with an 18-14 run.

But CHBC finished strong with a 33-24 second half.

Macee Rodman led the winners with 22 points on six field goals, two from three-point range, and eight of 10 at the line. Lena Bowlin added 11 on four field goals and three of four at the line. Haley Doty added nine.

South Central was led by Kaitlyn Swift with 18 points on six field goals, five of those from three-point range, and one of two at the line. Percilla Reid added eight points.

In the junior varsity contest, South Central was a 15-10 winner in two quarters of play.

Baylee Brown led the winners with five points.

CHBC was led by Laney Doty and Allison Shields with four each.

At Cowden

At Bluford

Dieterich easily handled Webber Township (Bluford) by a 65-30 count Tuesday evening.

The Maroons took a 16-10 opening quarter lead and then went on a 21-9 second period run to lead 37-19 at halftime.

Addison Miller led the winners with 20 points on eight field goals and two free throws. She connected on two three-pointers.

Also in double figures was Callie Faller with 10 while Brittney Niemerg added eight.

Miller led in rebounds with seven and steals with six. Kady Tegeelr also had six steals. Niemerg and Tegeler had three assists each. Niemerg led in blocked shots with three.

At Bluford
