EHS Athletes Of Month For January

The Effingham Athletic Department runs an Athlete of the Month program each month. Athletes are nominated by head coaches and then voted on by all coaches. Winners receive recognition and a Treign Athlete of the Month shirt.

Nomination criteria is as follows: Stats, Accomplishments, Character, Coachability, Leadership and Sportsmanship.

January High School Winners are:

Averie Wolfe, Jr. - Girls Basketball

"Averie has been named to every all tournament team so far, Newton, Charleston, and was MVP of the Vandalia Tournament. She is as hard a working kid as there is. She is our motor who makes us go, with her tenacious defense and improving leadership skills."  -- Coach Jeff Schafer

 
 KJ Kellams, Sr. – Boys Basketball

"KJ has done a great job in his role on our basketball team. He provides a spark off the bench on both ends of the floor. He brings a different level of athleticism into the game for us. KJ has been solid in his point guard role and hit some very big shots when we have needed them the most. He continues to work and grow his game to be the best player he can be for his teammates." -- Coach Mack Thompson
