Boys Basketball Action

Effingham High School fell in Apollo conference play by a score of 57-40.

The Hearts are now 6-20 on the season, 2-5 in the conference. Mattoon improved 8-17 as they picked up their first victory in the Apollo with the win.

South Central defeated Cisne in non-conference play 65-33.

The Cougars led 9-1 after the first quarter and outscored the Lions 42-20 in the second half for the big win.

Brody Markley led all scorers with 22. Westin Neilson had 14, while Seth Bergman was also in double figures with 12. Evan Hoover and Callaway Smith each finished with five points. Three points for Kage Hiestand, with two points each for Maddox Robb and Trevan Sidwell. 

South Central is now 16-8 on the season.
