St. Anthony Girls Still No. 1 In Latest Polls While Boys Squad Is Second

The latest Associated Press high school boys and girls basketball polls were released.

The Effingham St. Anthony girls squad moved from second to the top of the pack in Class 1A. The Bulldogs received 87 points.

Also in 1A, two other National Trail Conference teams received votes. Brownstown/St. Elmo earned five and Stewardson-Strasburg/Windsor received two.

Effingham had two votes in Class 3A while Teutopolis earned three votes in Class 2A.

In the boys basketball poll, St. Anthony stands in second place in Class 1A with 126 points.

Dieterich is in the others receiving votes category in Class 1A with 17.
