The Mustangs took a 10-8 opening quarter lead but St. Anthony came back with an 11-5 second quarter to move ahead 19-15 at halftime
Effingham rallied with a 12-3 third period to lead 27-22. But the Bulldogs came right back in the final quarter with a 12-2 run for the victory.
Bloemer led the way for St. Anthony with 13 points while Phillips added 11.
Effingham was led by Deek Thompson with 13 and Will Schuler with 12.

At Shiloh
Neoga and Shiloh split junior high boys basketball victories Wednesday evening.
Neoga was a 37-23 winner in the seventh-grade game. Neoga took a 22-15 halftime lead and had a 15-8 second half.
Liam Kenworthy led the way with 16 points while Gage Nohren added 11.
In eighth-grade play, Shiloh edged Neoga, 23-21.
Neoga led 12-6 after the opening quarter and 16-11 at halftime. Shiloh came back with a 12-5 second half run to pull out the win.
Brody Strobl led Neoga with seven points.

Jasper County and Cumberland were each winners in action Wednesday evening.
Cumberland claimed the seventh-grade contest, 40-25. Cumberland held an 18-12 halftime then had a 14-7 third quarter run.
Tyson Miles scored 16 for the winners while Bronx Clapp added eight.
Jacob Guzman led Jasper County with 10 and Alex Keller added seven. The team dropped to 4-14.
In eighth-grade play, Jasper County trailed Cumberland 24-20 at halftime but came out with a 31-15 second half for the 51-39 win.
Cambell Ulm led the winners with 19 points while Chase Kistner scored 11 and Brendan Emmerich 10 for Jasper County.
C. Roedl led Cumberland with 18 and R. Walk with 10.
Jasper County improved to 9-10 and will return to action today hosting Hutrsonville.
