The Bullpups won the seventh-grade encounter, 30-28. Mount Zion stepped out to an 8-2 opening quarter lead and led 16-15 at halftime.
St. Anthony came back with a 9-8 third quarter run to tie the score at 24-24 then had a 6-4 final quarter for the two-point victory.
R. Schumacher led the Bullpups with 10 points.
In the eighth-grade game, St. Anthony was a 35-29 winner.
The Bullpups trailed 9-8 after the opening quarter but moved into a 15-13 halftime lead then had a 20-16 second half.
B. Verdeyen scored 14 points for the winners while C. Bierman added 10.

At Taylorville
Effingham fell in both seventh- and eighth-grade play against Taylorville Monday evening.
In the seventh-grade game, Effingham moved into a 13-9 opening quarter lead and led 20-18 at halftime. Taylorville came back with a 15-10 second half for the 33-30 win.
The Mustangs were led by Calvin Beck with eight points and Deek Thompson with seven.
In eighth-grade play, Taylorville took the early 9-4 lead and led 14-12 halftime lead. Taylorville came back with a 20-11 second half.
Effingham was led in scoring by Dagg Thompson with seven and Joel Flack with six.

Effingham Sacred Heart and Altamont Lutheran claimed a victory each Monday evening.
Sacred Heart won the seventh-grade game, 42-27. The Shamrocks held a 22-13 halftime lead.
Lucas McDevitt and Gabe Traub tallied 12 points each for the winners.
Altamont Lutheran was led by Schnarre with 12.
In eighth-grade actiio, Altamont Lutheran ripped out to a 26-9 halftime lead.
Hunt scored 14 for the winners.

Paris Mayo tallied a 46-18 victory over Jasper County in opening round play of the LEIC Seventh-Grade Tournament Monday.
Paris Mayo held an 18-11 halftime lead then had a 28-7 second half.
Grant Frichtl led Jasper County with 10 points.

Teutopolis sent Charleston home with two losses in Monday evening play.
T-town was a 35-22 winner in the seventh-grade game. The Wooden Shoes held a 20-18 halftime lead the had a 15-4 second half.
Mason Giles led the way with 10 points while Louie Niebrugge added eight.
In the eighth-grade contest, T-town ran out to a 24-5 first quarter lead and never looked back in a 65-24 win.
Sam Probst tallied 15 points while Kale Goeckner added 10 for the Shoes.

Stewardson-Strasburg was a winner over Dieterich in both seventh- and eighth-grade action Monday evening.
Stew-Stras handily won the seventh-grade game, 34-4 to improve to 16-1 on the season overall and 9-0 in the National Trail Conference
Friese scored 10 points for the winners.
Dieterich was led by Lustig and Goeckner with two each.
In the eighth-grade game, Stew-Stras took a 24-13 halftime lead and had a 17-5 third quarter run in a 50-25 win.
Vonderheide led with 13 points while Spannagel added 11 for the winners who improved to 12-4 overall and 8-1 in the NTC.
Dieterich was led by Bierman with eight.

The Bobcats ran out to a 17-2 opening quarter lead in seventh-grade play and went on for a 35-13 victory.
Drake Thull scored 21 points for the winners.
In the eighth-grade contest, CHBC won 61-28, taking a 34-17 halftime lead.
Lyric Davis led with 15 points while Kaisyn Calame and Max Kircher tallied 13 points each.

SEB won the seventh-grade game, 34-27. SEB took a 26-18 halftime lead then held off Neoga in the final quarter.
Wilhour scored 15 for the winners while Schaub added nine.
Neoga was led by Baylor Matusas with 16.
In eighth-grade play, St.Elmo/Brownstown captued a 38-16 win. SEB ran out to a 27-8 halftime lead.
Schaub scored 16 for the winners while Stufflebaum added 12.
Brody Strobl led Neoga with nine.

Flora Floyd Henson captured two wins over North Clay (Louisville) Monday.
Flora won the seventh-grade contest, 41-10 and claimed the eighth-grade game 45-27.
North Clay isn't back in action until Friday against Windsor at 8 p.m. in the first round of the National Trail Conference Tournament at Brownstown.
