Dieterich Captures Own Boys Tourney Title

The Maroons handed Arcola a 45-24 loss to claim first place. Dieterich held a 27-9 halftime lead.

Lucas Westendorf led the way with 22 points on nine field goals and four of seven at the line.

The third place contest went to Sullivan over South Central, 69-53. Sullivan led 32-28 at halftime then had a 23-14 third quarter run.

South Central had three players in double figures. Jalen Smith and Westin Neilson scored 11 each while Trevan Sidwell added 10.

Camden Watkins led Sullivan with 20 points and James Feldkamp added 18.

The fifth place contest went to Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City over Red Hill (Bridgeport), 72-66.

The Bobcats edged out to a 16-13 opening quarter lead. Red Hill moved ahead 37-33 at halftime and led 48-45 going into the final quarter.

CHBC then had a 27-18 final quarter run to claim the victory.

Wyatt Rueff had a big game, hitting 12 field goals, four of those from three-point range, and was four of four at the line for 32 points.

Also in double figures were Remington Howell and AJ Radloff with 16 each.

The seventh place contest went to Grayville over Ramsey, 75-46. Jake Hostman led the winners with 23 points while Zach Leavens added 18, Canyon Neely 12 and Ian Kleinschmidt 10.

Bladyn McCloskey led Ramsey with 21.

In Friday action, Sullivan downed Ramsey 85-24, Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City beat Grayville 71-55, Arcola won over Sullivan 45-36, South Central beat Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City 61-45,  Arcola won over Red Hill 61-28 and Dieterich bounced South Central 49-19.

Named All-Tournament were Brock Niemerg (Dieterich), Zach Leavens (Grayville), Camden Watkins (Sullivan), Tanner Thomas (Arcola), Wyatt Rueff (Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City), Ozzy Ash (Red Hill), Landen Keck (Dieterich), Westin Neilson (South Central), Braden Phillips (Arcola) and Lucas Westendorf (Dieterich).
