ARTHUR -- Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg High School claimed the championship of the Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond Knights Girls Basketball Classic Monday evening.

The Hatchets handed Shelbyville a 54-40 loss in the title contest.

ALAH downed Unity Christian 50-28 for fifth place.

Seventh place went to Decatur  Eisenhower over Chrisman, 46-42.

The third place game, featuring Heritage against Rantoul, no score was reported.

 

At Farina

Woodlawn stepped out to a 16-7 lead on host South Central and handed the Cougars a 62-32 loss Monday evening.

Woodlawn held a 36-17 halftime lead. South Central had a slight 10-9 third quarter edge but Woodlawn came back with a 17-5 final quarter run.

Sophia Skinner led Woodlawn with 23 points on 10 field goals and three free throws. Rylie Hockett was also in double figures with 19.

The Cougars were led by Lorelai Rose with nine points on four field goals and one of two at the line. Baylee Brown added eight points.

At Louisville

Casey-Westfield came calling and claimed a 27-21 victory over North Clay (Louisville) Monday evening.

North Clay dropped to 7-5 on the season and will return to action Friday against Edwards County at 1:30 and Mount Carmel JV at 5 p.m. in the Merry Mule Tournament at Fairfield High School.
