OPH Downs South Central In H.S. Girls Basketball

OBLONG -- Oblong/Palestine/Hutsonville claimed a 44-29 victory over South Central in a non-conference girls high school basketball contest Wednesday evening.

OPH edged out to a 12-9 opening quarter lead with three baskets and six of 10 at the line.

Addie Connant scored three for South Central while Kaitlyn Swift and Madison Green put in a basket each and Baylee Brown hit two free throws.

OPH pushed its lead to 21-13 at halftime as the Cougars could muster only four free throws in the second period.

OPH had a 23-16 second half run.

Alyssa Tipton lead OPH with 14 points while Genna Kidwell added nine.

South Central was led by Kennah Hiestand with eight points on two field goals and four of eight at the line.
