ALTAMONT -- Stewardson-Strasburg handed Altamont two losses in boys junior high basketball Tuesday evening.

Stew-Stras claimed the seventh-grade contest, 59-13, taking a 20-0 opening quarter lead and never looking back.

Three players finished in double figures for the winners. Pruemer led the way with 14 points while Richter and Howe scored 10 each.

Altamont was led by Jack Neu with four points.

In the eighth-grade contest, Stew-Stras captured a 36-24 victory.

Stew-Stras held a 22-11 halftime lead and had a 14-13 second half edge.

Vonderheide finished with 10 for the winners while Hille and Kaufman added eight each.

Altamont was led by Bannister with 10.

At Lawrenceville

Jasper County fell to Lawrenceville in both seventh- and eighth-grade action Tuesday evening.

Lawrenceville ran out to a 17-4 opening quarter lead in seventh-grade play and won 38-19.

Trace Cornwell led Jasper County with seven points. Maverik Horner was the top rebounder. Alex Keller was the top defender and Noah Kurtz the top passer.

Jasper County dropped to 4-10.

In eighth-grade play, Lawrenceville won 42-3.

Hank Huber led Jasper County with 10 points and was the top rebounder along with Brendan Emmerich. Chase Kistner was the top passer.

Jasper County dropped to 7-7.

At Dieterich

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City picked up two victories over Dieterich in Tuesday evening action.

CHBC won the seventh-grade game 30-23. CHBC took an 18-15 haltime lead then had a 9-2 third quarter run.

Lane Reed led with nine points.

Dieterich was led by Swingler with nine points.

In the eighth-grade contest, the Bobcats were 41-32 winners. CHBC had a 16-7 second period after trailing 9-4.

Kaisyn Calame led the winners with 16 points while Zach Bennett added nine.

Dieterich was led by Goeckner with 15 and McQueen with 10.

At Ramsey

Neoga was a winner in both games over Ramsey Tuesday evening.

Neoga won the seventh-grade game, 40-28. Ramsey held an 11-8 opening quarter lead but Neoga came back to pull ahead 20-15 at halftime and had a 12-7 final quarter run.

Baylor Matusas led the way for the winners with 24 points.

In eighth-grade action, Neoga won 29-17. Neoga led 13-10 at haltime and had a 16-7 second half.

Brody Strobl led with 11 points while Benji Strobl chipped in with nine.

At Ramsey

At Altamont

Altamont Lutheran was a winner over North Clay in both games Tuesday.

Altamont Lutheran won the seventh-grade contest, 44-22 and took the eighth-grade game, 47-34.

North Clay dropped to 6-5 and returns to action Thursday at South Central.
