South Central Advances to State, Dieterich and Teutopolis Seasons End

South Central is headed to the Class 8-2A State Tournament.
In eigth-grade girls sectional action Wednesday night, South Central defeated conference rival Dieterich at the Class 8-2A Central A&M Sectional.
It was a low scoring affair as South Central picked up the 15-8 victory. South Central edged out to a 6-4 opening quarter lead but Dieterich came back with a 4-0 secon dperiod to pull ahead 8-6 at halftime.
Neither team scored in the third quarter. South Central then came roaring back with a 9-0 final period to pull out the victory.
Anna ruholl and Emmie Ruholl led the winners with four points each.
Dieterich was led by C. Faller with six points.
South Central (14-9) moves on to State quarterfinal action at Havana Junior High School Saturday morning at 11:30 when it battles Bloomington Corpus Christi (16-5) for the right to play in the Final Four at 5 p.m.
Dieterich finished its season with a record of 15-9.

Teutopolis lost to undefeated Paris Mayo in the 8-3A Sectional at Teutopolis 29-17. T-town had its season end with a record of 23-2, both losses to Paris Mayo.
