Newton Wins Frosh/Soph Boys Basketball

NEWTON -- Newton played host to Paris in freshman/sophomore boys basketball competition and claimed two wins Thursday evening.

The Eagles won the freshman game, 58-13 by jumping out to a 22-8 opening quarter lead.

Eight players scored for Newton in the game. Fulton led the way with 12 points while Huber chipped in with 11.

In the sophomore contest, Newton was a 26-20 winner, playing only two quarters each.

Newton was led by Harris and Ulm with 10 points each.
