S. Central Third, SEB Fifth at M.G. Tournament

In Friday action, South Central fell to Father McGivney, 47-46. Father McGivney ran out to a 12-4 opening quarter lead on South Central. but the Cougars pulled within 26-23 at halftime. South Central moved ahead 36-34 in the third quarter but Father McGivney came back with a 13-10 run for the victory.

Westin Neilson led South Central with 15 points while Seth Bergmann added 12 and Brody Markley 10.

Mulberry Grove won over St. Elmo/Brownstown, 66-61.

Mulberry Grove ran out to a 14-3 opening quarter lead and led 30-15 at halftime. St. Elmo/Brownstown rallied in the second half with a 46-36 run but it was too little.

Graiden Wilhour and Lowell Wilhour scored 20 points each for SEB. L. Wilhour led in rebounds with nine and had six assists. G. Wilhour had three steals and Jayden Hughestt had two blocked shots.

In Saturday's games, South Central took a 20-13 opening quarter lead and led 30-26 at halftime. The Cougars went on for a 54-38 victory over Mulberry Grove to finish third.

The Cougars were led by Markley with 20 points, Neilson with 17 and Hiestand with 10.

St. Elmo/Brownstown downed Lebanon 77-50 for fifth place.

The Eagles stepped out to a 25-13 opening quarter lead and led 38-28 at halftime. SEB then had a 31-22 second half run.

G. Wilhour scored 24 points on 10 field goals, one a three-pointer and three of four at the line. Gavin Sanders added 13. G. Wilhour and Trenten Monnet had eight rebounds each. Vadim Plum led in steals with two. G. Wilhour had six assists.
