South Central claimed the Class 8-2A Regional championship.

South Central was a winner in its own Class 8-2A Girls Basketball Regional Tuesday evening.

South Central defeated Nokomis, 37-31 to win the regional championship.

The winners took a 10-7 opening quarter lead as Skylar Webster connected for five points and Annie Ruholl four. The lead was 21-20 at halftime. Webster hit a three-pointer.

South Central then had a 9-6 third period and outscored Nokomis 8-5 in the final period.

Webster finished with 12 points to lead the way while Ruholl added nine.

South Central now advances to the Assumption Central A&M Sectional December 11 to meet the winner of the Casey-Westfield Regional. Dieterich and Casey-Westfield square off for that title tonight at 6.

Class 8-1A Decatur Unity Regional

Lincoln West Lincoln Broadwell won the Decatur Unity Regional by pounding Mount Pulaski, 24-8.

Lincoln West Lincoln Broadwell will now advance to the Liberty Sectional December 11 to meet the winner of the Kinderhook Western Regional, either Liberty or Kinderhook Western.
