Class 8-1A Sigel St. Michael Regional
Effingham Sacred Heart and Sigel St. Michael were winners in opening round play of the St. Michael Regional.
In the opening contest, Sacred Heart had an easy time, downing Mattoon St. John's 31-9.
The second game went to St. Michael, also with an easy victory, this one over Oblong, 50-18.
Effingham Sacred Heart, seeded fourth, will now take on top-seeded Pana Sacred Heart at 6 p.m. today.
St. Michael, seeded third, will meet second-seeded Ramsey at 7:15 p.m. today.
The winners advance to the championship Wednesday at 6 p.m.
Class 8-1A Decatur Unity Regional
Neoga claimed a victory as the lone area team in this regional Saturday.
Neoga, seeded third, beat Decatur American Dreamer by a 41-12 count.
In the other games, Lincoln West Lincoln-Broadwell pounded DeLand-Weldon, 60-2 while Springfield Christ The King won over Decatur Unity 28-14 and Mount Pulaski downed Findlay Okaw Valley 40-5.
Neoga advances to face second-seed Mount Pulaski at 6 p.m. today while Lincoln West Lincoln-Broadwell and Springfield Christ the King will meet at 5 p.m.
The winenrs advance to the championship Tuesday at 5 p.m.
Class 8-2A Casey-Westfield Regional
Effingham St. Anthony advanced to the second round of play at the Casey-Westfield Regional Saturday.
The Bullpups, seeded third, downed sixth-seeded Palestine, 40-26.
St. Anthony rushed out to a 12-2 opening quarter lead and led 20-12 at halftime.
Bella Schultz led the way with 14 points for the Bullpups while Carly Budde added 10.
In the opening contest, Albion was a 51-11 winner over North Clay.
Albion advances to meet Dieterich at 6 p.m. today while St. Anthony takes on Casey-Westfield at 7:15 p.m.
The winners will meet Wednesday for the regional championship at 6 p.m.

Class 8-2A South Central Regional
Altamont and South Central advanced from opening round play of the South Central Regional Saturday.
Altamont, seeded fifth, upset fourth-seeded Brownstown/St. Elmo, 26-16.
Third-seeded South Central won over sixth-seeded Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City, 42-11.
South Central tore out to a 12-2 opening quarter lead and led 20-6 at halftime.
Two players hit double figures for the winners. Webster led the way with 16 points while A. Ruholl added 10.
Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City was led by Lilly Harper and Halee Goeckner with four each.
Altamont will now face top-seeded Nokomis at 6 p.m. today while South Central will take on second-seeded Assumption Central A&M at 7:15 p.m.
The winners advance to the championship Tuesday at 6 p.m.

Class 8-3A Teutopolis Regional
Two games were contested Saturday at the Teutopolis Regional.
Shelbyville Moulton was a 33-10 winner over Pana.
In the second contest, Macon Meridian downed Decatur Johns Hill 38-12.
Shelbyville Moulton advances to face top-seeded Teutopolis at 6 p.m. Macon Meridian will now take on second-seeded Sullivan at 7:15 p.m.
The winners will meet Wednesday for the regional champoinship.
Class 8-3A Paris Mayo Regional
Three games were on tap at the Paris Mayo Regional Saturday.
Robinson Nuttall opened with a 34-16 win over Marshall.
In the second contest, Lawrenceville Parkview easily won over Cumberland, 49-9.
The third game went to Jasper County over Red Hill (Bridgeport), 47-12.
Tonight's games find top-seeded Paris Mayo against Robinson Nuttall at 6 followed by Jasper County taking on Lawrenceville Parkview at 7:30.
The winners will meet Wednesday for the regional championship.
Class 8-4A Taylorville Regional
Effingham, seeded sixth, upset third-seeded Stephen Decatur, 32-20 in Saturday action at the Taylorville Regional.
Stephen Decatur edged out to a 7-6 opening quarter lead but Effingham came back with a 9-5 second quarter to lead 15-12 at halftime. The Mustangs then had a 17-8 second half.
Aleece Lotz and Ari McGee led the way with eight points each.
Effingham then fell to second-seeded Mount Zion, 40-10 while top-seeded Taylorville downed Rochester, 33-22.
Muont Zion zipped out to a 17-0 opening quarter lead and went on for a 40-10 victory.
April Martin led Effingham with six points.
In the opening game, Rochester won over Mattoon 28-23.
Taylorville and Mount Zion will square off tonight for the regional championship.
