Dieterich was a 34-18 winner in the seventh-grade contest. Dieterich held a 19-9 halftime lead and had an 11-5 third quarter.
Emery Bill led the way for Dieterich with nine points while Lydia Kreke and Mya Ohnesorge added eight each.
Effingham was led by Barnhart and Bierman with six points each.
In eighth-grade play, Effingham edged Dieterich 16-15. The Mustangs took an 8-3 opening quarter lead but Dieterich came back over the next two quarters to move ahead 11-10 going into the final period. Effingham then had a 6-4 run to pull out the win.
Abby Johnson and April Martin scored six points each for the winners.
Dieterich was led by Claire Faller with six points and Lexie Funneman with five rebounds.
The Roadrunners were the winners in a seventh-grade C game, 19-5. Ava Benefiel had eight points.
Effingham fell twice in Saturday action at Bethalto.
The Mustangs lost to Rochester 39-31. Rochester ran out to a 15-7 opening quarter lead and led 22-15 at halftime and 29-23 going into the final period.
Effingham was led by April Martin with 10 points and Sophie Niebrugge with eight.
The Mustangs then lost to Bethalto Trimpe 33-10. Effingham trailed Trimpe 18-2 at halftime.
Martin led the way with six points.

Mount Zion played host to Effingham St. Anthony and claimed two victories over the Bullpups Saturday.
Mount Zion won the seventh-grade contest, 47-25. The homestanders took a 13-2 opening quarter lead and led 23-14 at halftime.
Bella Schultz led St. Anthony with 11 points.
In eighth-grade action, Mount Zion held a 13-6 halftime lead and tallied a 29-15 win.
Patience Crockett led the Bullpups with eight points.

North Clay and Flora Floyd Henson split victories in Friday action
North Clay was a winner in eighth-grade play, 30-24 to improve to 4-10 on the season.
In the seventh-grade contest, Flora Floyd Henson won 24-17.
Norht Clay is back in action Tuesday against Neoga at 6 p.m.
At Mount Zion
Teutopolis handed Mount Zion a 25-23 eighth-grade loss in Saturday play.
The Wooden Shoes held a 13-9 first half lead and led 23-12 going into the final quarter were Mount Zion had an 11-3 run.
Martin led the way with seven points for the Shoes.
T-town improved to 19-1.
