NTC 8th Grade Tournament Results and T-town wins battle with St. Anthony

Top seeded Sigel St. Micheal defeated Sacred Heart 39-20 to move into the Championship game Saturday. The Sharpshooters led by just 2 after the first quarter but outscored the Shamrocks by 6 in both the 2nd and 3rd quarter to gain control of the contest.

Sigel was led in scoring by Anna Holley with 11 and Tinley Niebrugge with 10 points. Cora Bierman from Sacred Heart was in double figures with 11 points.

 

Neoga steadily pulled away from Dieterich to win the other semi-final 24-9. Bliss Bear's 6 points led a ballanced offense for Neoga. While Dieterich was led by Claire Faller's 4 points.

 

Sigel will play Neoga for the Championship at 11:30 Saturday morning in the championship game. Sacred Heart and Dieterich will play for 3rd Place at 10:15.

Tonight's winners of the 6pm matchup between CHBC and BSE and the 7:15pm game between North Clay and South Central will determine who plays in the consolation championship at 9am tomorrow morning.

 

Teutopolis picked up a couple of big wins over St. Anthony as both the 7th & 8th grade teams are now 16-0 on the season.

In the 8th grade game T-town led 20-2 at haftime and ultimatley picked up the win 37-7.

Meyer had 11, Probst 10 and Zerrusen finshed with 9 points to lead T-town's scoring. Shultz and Semple had 5 points each to lead St. Anthony in scoring.

 

The 7th grade game was 12-9 at halftime, but a T-town 10-0 run in the 3rd quarter followed by a 15-5 scoring edge in the final period gave Teutopolis a 37-14 victory.

Drees was in double figures with 12 to lead T-town. St. Anthony's Clark had 4 points to lead their scoring.
