The Mustangs won the seventh-grade contest, 30-22. EJHS trailed Olney 15-13 at halftime then came back with a 9-6 third quarter run to lead by a point going into the final period. From there, Bailey knocked in three baskets and Hites a bucket in the final quarter as the Mustangs won by eight.
Bailey led the way with 14 points while Barnhart and Hites added six each.
In eighth-grade action, Olney had a 10-4 final quarter run to claim a 29-27 victory over EJHS.
Olney led 8-7 after the first quarter but the Mustangs came back with a 12-2 second period to lead 19-10 at halftime. Effingham held a 23-19 lead going into the final quarter and was held to four points.
Abby Johnson led the way for Effingham with 11 while April Martin added 10.

Pana Sacred Heart picked up victories over Neoga Monday evening.
Sacred Heart won the seventh-grade game 31-12 behind a 14-point performance by Carlson.
Neoga was led by Bell and N. Hartke with a field goal and a free throw each for three points.
In the eighth-grade contest, Pana Sacred Heart took a 25-6 halftime lead and never looked back in a 39-18 win.
C. Frankie led Neoga with six points.

Dieterich was a winner in both games over Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City Monday evening.
Dieterich claimed the seventh-grade contest 49-21 by ripping out to a 28-4 opening quarter lead.
Bill led the way with 20 points while Williams added 10 for the winners.
CHBC was led by Elaina Thompson with seven as the team dropped to 6-2 in the National Trail Conference, 13-5 overall.
In eighth-grade play, Dieterich edged out to a 15-13 opening half lead then had a 14-8 second half for the 29-21 win. Funneman tallied seven and Faller six for the winners.
CHBC was led by Sophie Zumbahlen with six as the team fell to 1-5 in the conference, 3-10 overall.

North Clay (Louisville) claimed a National Trail Conference win over Brownstown/St. Elmo Monday evening.
North Clay as a winner in seventh-grade play, 22-14.
North Clay also claimed the eighth-grade victory, 24-18 and is 2-5 in the National Trail Conference, 3-7 overall.
