Dieterich won the National Trail Conference Seventh-Grade Tournament.

Dieterich claimed the championship of the National Trail Conference Seventh-Grade Girls Basketball Tournament Saturday.

Dieterich downed Sigel St. Michael in the title contest, 33-17. The winners moved into an 8-2 opening quarter lead and led 14-5 at halftime. M. Ohnesorge tallied six of her team's 12 points in the third quarter 12-4 run. Ohnesorge finished with 14 points for the winners while E. Bill added 12.

St. Michael was led by B. Niebrugge with 11.

In the third place contest, Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City edged out to a 6-2 opening quarter lead and led 12-4 at halftime over Brownstown/St. Elmo.

CHBC then had a 9-4 third quarter and finished out the victory. Thompson led the way with nine points while Vaughn added seven.

BSE was led by Topkins with six.

Altamont claimed the consolation championship by downing Neoga, 24-11.

Altamont held a 15-6 halftime lead and held Neoga scoreless in the third quarter.

Teasley led the winners with nine points while Burrus chipped in with seven.

Neoga was led by N. Hartke with six points.

Sigel St. Michael finished second at the National Trail Conference Seventh-Grade Tournament.

Third place went to Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City at the NTC Seventh-Grade Tournament.

Altamont finished as the Consolation Champions at the NTC Seventh-Grade Tournament.

 

At Mahomet

Teutopolis claimed two victories Saturday.

The Wooden Shoes won over Taylorville in both seventh- and eighth-grade competition.

In the seventh-grade game, T-town was a 29-17 winner. The two teams were tied at 11-11 at halftime. T-town then went on a 10-2 tear in the third quarter and never looked back.

Probst scored 10 for the winners while Zerrusen added eight.

In the eighth-grade contest, T-town won 44-14. The Shoes ran out to a 23-12 halftime lead then had a 15-0 third quarter surge.

Drees led the way with 10 points while Hoene added seven.

T-town then took on host Mahomet-Seymour and won the seventh-grade game, 30-17. T-town held a 15-7 halftime lead. Meyer scored 13 and Probst eight for the Shoes who are now 14-0 on the season.

In the eighth-grade contest, T-town trailed Mahomet-Seymour 12-7 after the opening quarter and 16-15 at halftime. Mahomet-Seymour held a 23-18 lead into the final quarter and the Shoes came roaring back with a 15-6 run to pull out the victory.

Drees led the way with 27 points as the eighth-grade Shoes also improved to 14-0.
