Dieterich captured two victories over Martinsville in junior high girls basketball competition Tuesday evening.

Dieterich easily won the seventh-grade game, 40-6. Lydia Kreke led the way with 12 points while Mya Ohnesorge and Emery Bill added eight each. Ava Benefiel was the top rebounder with six.

In eighth-grade play, Dieterich won 25-19. Vaelyn Smith had eight and Claire Faller seven. Faller led in rebounds with nine.

At Martinsville

At Cowden

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City won twice over Effingham Sacred Heart Tuesday.

In the seventh-grade contest, CHBC improved to 7-2 on the season with a 24-7 victory. Elaina Thompson was the lone player in double figures with 10.

Saced Heart was led by Robertson with six points.

In the eighth-grade game, CHBC was a 33-17 winner and is now 2-6 on the season.

Thompson again led the scoring with 15 points while Lilly Harper added six.

The Shamrocks were led by Aldrich with 11 points.

At Sigel

Sigel St. Michael was a winner over North Clay (Louisville) in both seventh- and eighth-grade play Tuesday.

The Sharpshooters won the seventh-grade contest 37-8 and then claimed the eighth-grade matchup 50-20.

North Clay is back in action Thursday at Altamont beginning at 6 p.m.
