Effingham St. Anthony picked up two victories over North Clay (Louisville) in junior high girls baskeball competition Tuesday evening.

 

The Bullpups won the seventh-grade contest, 31-18, zipping out to a 13-2 opening quarter lead and holding North Clay scoreless in the third quarter while putting in 14 points.

St. Anthony was led by Z. Schultz with 12 points and N. Semple with eight.

Jordan led North Clay with eight points.

In the eighth-grade contest, St. Anthony held an 18-13 lead then had a 23-13 second half for the 41-26 victory.

Two players hit double figures for the Bulllpups, Budde with 17 and Stephens with 12.

North Clay was led by Zills with 10 points.

At Effingham

At Cowden

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City and Ramsey split victories Tuesday evening.

CHBC pounded  Ramsey 36-4 in the seventh-grade contest.

Reese Vaughn led eight players in scoring with eight points for the winners. The Bobcats improved to 1-1.

Ramsey was led by Brickslee Moreland with all four points.

In eighth-grade play, Ramsey was a 25-20 winner. Ramsey held an 11-10 lead at halftime then had a 14-10 second half run.

Anna Benhoff led Ramsey with 14 points.

CHBC was led by Vaughn and Valentina Doty with six each. The Bobcats dropped to 0-2.
