Effingham St. Anthony opened the junior high girls basketball season with both seventh- and eighth-grade victories over Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City Thursday.
The Bullpups were winners in seventh-grade play, 30-17. Schultz tallied 17 for the winners.
CHBC was led by Doty with seven.
In eighth-grade action, St. Anthony claimed a 28-14 victory. Budde had 10 points for the winners.
CHBC was led by Thompson with six.

At Louisville
North Clay (Louisville) fell to Effingham Sacred Haert.
Sacred Heart won the seventh-grade contest, 18-10 and captured the eighth-grade game, 39-10.
North Clay is back in action Tuesday at St. Anthony.
