UConn Beats Purdue For NCAA Men's Basketball Title

The University of Connecticut remained unbeaten through the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament to claim the championship Monday evening.

UConn beat Purdue, 75-60 and earned a back-to-back title in the NCAA Tourney.

Purdue took the opening lead. Both teams were back and forth through the opening half before UConn pushed ahead 36-30. UConn then had a 39-30 second half.

Four players hit double figures for UConn. Tristen Newton led the way with 20 points while Stephon Castle added 15. Donovan Clingan, the 7-foot-2 player, and Cam Spencer finished with11 each.

Purdue was led by 7-foot-4 Zach Edey with 37 points and Braden Smith with 12.
