Purdue Downs Illinois, 77-71

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – No. 12 Illinois led by as many as 10 in the first half, but it was not enough in the Fighting Illini's 77-71 loss to No. 3 Purdue at State Farm Center on Tuesday night.

Marcus Domask scored a team-high 20 points, his third consecutive outing with at least 20 points and ninth overall this season. He also tallied four rebounds, four assists, and one steal.

Coleman Hawkins came up one rebound short of his four double-double of the season, finishing with 13 points and a team-most nine boards. Making three steals for the fifth time this season, he also dished out one assist. 

Terrence Shannon Jr. recorded double-digit points for the 34th game in a row, rounding out his final appearance at State Farm Center with 11 points. Both of his rebounds came on the offensive glass, while he made one assist. 

Quincy Guerrier knocked down three 3-pointers, all of which came in the first half, and he finished with 12 points. He also totaled two boards and one steal.

Ty Rodgers poured in six of his eight points in the second half, while three of his four rebounds were on the offensive end of the floor.

No. 12 Illinois' (22-8, 13-6 B1G) regular-season finale is set for Sunday afternoon, when the Illini take on Iowa (18-12, 10-9 B1G) for the second time in their last five games. Tipoff from Carver-Hawkeye Arena is scheduled for 6 p.m. CT on FS1.
