Area Boys High School Basketball Regionals Open Monday

Effingham St. Anthony, Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg and Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City head to the Class 1A Bethany Okaw Valley Regional

The Bulldogs are seeded No. 1 while WSS is seventh and CHBC 10th. Other teams entered in the regional include Ramsey Co-op, Nokomis, Arcola, Moweaqua Central A&M and Bethany Okaw Valley.

Altamont, South Central, North Clay (Louisville) and St. Elmo/Brownstown will be competing at the Class 1A Altamont Regional.

Altamont has the No. 2 seed while SEB is No. 5, North Clay No. 7 and South Central No. 10. Other teams in the regional include Mulberry Grove, Sandoval, Webber Township (Bluford) and Patoka Co-op.

Heading to the Class 1A Casey-Westfield Regional is one lone National Trail Conference squad, Neoga, seeded 11th. Other teams entered include Broadlands Heritage, Tuscola, Martinsville ,Hume Shiloh Co-op, Casey-Westfield, Chrisman and Villa Grove.

Dieterich will be competing in the Class 1A Edwards County (Albion) Regional but doesn't open play tonight. The Maroons are seeded No. 1 and won't be in action until Wednesday at 6 p.m. against either Edwards County or Cisne. Other teams in the regional include Wayne city, Centralia Christ Our Rock Lutheran, Red Hill (Bridgeport0 and Grayville.

Cumberland, Teutopolis and Newton are competing in Class 2A.

Cumberland, seeded 11th is at the Vandalia Regional. Other members of the field include Vandalia, Robinson, Flora, Lawrenceville and Fairfield.

Tetuopolis and Newton will both be competing at the Newtion Regional but not until Wednesday. Other teams include Paris, Marshall, Oblong/Palestine/Hutsonville and Mount Carmel.

Effingham is the lone area school in Class 3A. The Hearts will travel to the Charleston Regional and meet the homestanding Trojans at 6 p.m. EHS is seeded 10th.

Other teams in the regional include Mount Vernon, Richland County and Mattoon.
