Altamont, BSE, T-town Win, Neoga, Dieterich, Newton, C'land Fall In Girls Basketball Regionals

Altamont edged out to an 11-10 lead on Neoga but had a tough second period as Neoga moved into a 22-19 halftime lead.
Altamont came out after halftime and put on a 19-7 run and never looked back in a 53-38 victory.
Grace Nelson led the way for Altamont with 35 points on 13 field goals and a perfect eight of eight at the line.
Altamont hit four three-pointers as Nelson, Claire Boehm, Peyton Osteen and Skylie Klein put in one each.
Neoga was led by Brynn Richards and Atalie Osborn with 12 points each. Both players connected on six field goals. Haylee Campbell added nine points.
Neoga ends the season with a 17-15 record.
In the second game of the evening, Decatur St. Teresa was a 55-46 winner over Dieterich.
Dieterich stepped out to a 17-13 opening quarter lead as Miley Britton went on a run, connecting on six baskets that included two three-pointers and a free throw for 15 of her team's 17 points. In that opening quarter Britton went over 1,000 points for her career.
The Movin' Maroons held a 28-23 halftime lead. Britton hit a basket and a free throw and had 18 points by halftime and the Maroons led 28-23.
But that didn't last as St. Theresa came back with an 18-10 third period to move into a 41-38 lead. Lucy Corley led the way with eight of her team's points while Joella Livingston hit two three-pointers.
St. Theresa continued on with a 14-8 final quarter run for the victory.
Dieterich was led by Britton with 24 points on eight field goals, two of those from beyond the arc, and six of nine at the line. Ruby Westendorf chipped in with eight.
Altamont will meet Decatur St. Teresa at 6 p.m. Thursday for the regional championship and a berth in the Moweaqua Central A&M Sectional next week.

Class 1A Mount Olive Regional
Brownstown/St. Elmo pounded Maryville Christian, 60-15 in the second game Monday evening.
In the opener, Glen Carbon Father McGivney won over Mount Olive, 58-27.
BSE ran out to a 20-6 opening quarter lead behind Dayana Haslett's 10 points on five baskets and five points by Lexi Seabaugh with a basket and four of four at the line.
The lead went to 33-8 at halftime. Danika Ramsey hit two three-pointers.
The Bombers went on an 18-2 third quarter run behind Seabaugh's two three-pointers and a regular basket for eight in the quarter. Jaydin Huddlestun and Day. Haslett hit a three-pointer each.
Seabaugh finished the game with 17 points on five field goals, two of those trifectas, and five of six at the line. Day. Haslett also tallied in double figures with 13.
Brownstown/St. Elmo will now meet Father McGivney at 6 p.m. Friday for the regional championship.

Class 1A Centralia Christ Our Rock Lutheran Regional
Okawville easily won over Centralia Christ Our Rock Lutheran Monday evening, 42-11.
Tonight's game features South Central against North Clay (Louisville) at 7 pm..
The winner of tonight's game will meet Okawville Thursday at 7 p.m. for the regional championship.
Class 2A Lawrenceville Regional
Cumberland saw its season come to a close while Teutopolis advanced in the Lawrenceville Regional Monday evening.
The Pirates fell to Mount Carmel by a 56-36 score. Mount Carmel ran out to an 18-7 opening quarter lead.
Cumberland came back with a 14-13 second period to pull within 31-21 at halftime. Alysa Dittamore scored four points while Paige Dittamore connected on a three-pointer.
But Mount Carmel took off with a 21-9 third period run to lead 52-30 and that was the game.
Cumberland was led by Katelyn Shoemaker and A. Dittamore with 10 points each. Shoemaker hit four field goals, one a three-pointer, and one of two at the line while Dittamore put in five field goals.
In the second contest, Teutopolis handled Marshall to the tune of 74-20.
The Wooden Shoes ripped out to a 22-2 opening quarter lead as Mollie Ruholl nailed two three-pointers while Chloe Probst hit one. Isabella Zerrusen, Kelsey Niemerg and Malea Helmink scored four each.
The Shoes pushed their lead to 42-9 at halftime. C. Probst hit for seven points and A. Probst had two three-pointers.
The Shoes finished strong and had four players in double figures. C. Probst led the way with 15 points on six field goals, two from beyond the arc, and one of two at the line. Zerrusen tallied 12 and K. Niemerg and Helmink had 10 each.
Teutopolis and Mount Carmel will square off Thursday at 7 p.m. for the regional championship and a berth in the Newton Sectional.

Class 2A Fairfield Regional
Newton saw its season come to a close in a heart-breaking 41-40 loss to Carmi-White County Monday evening at the Fairfield Regional.
The Eagles edged out to a 9-6 opening quarter lead on Carmi-White County. But CWC came back with a 13-6 second quarter to move ahead 19-15 at halftime.
Both teams scored 11 points each in the third quarter. Newton came back with a 14-11 final quarter only to fall a point short.
Camryn Martin hit seven field goals and three of six at the line for 17 points while Karasyn Martin tallied 10. Lilly Kessler led in rebounds with seven while C. Martin had six. Elley Bennett led in steals with four and assists with two. C. Martin also had two assists.
Newton ends the season with a 20-11 record.
"I am proud of what this team accomplished this year," said Newton Coach Brad Harris. "Their determination led to improvements every game. This was a tough loss, but the players put forth such a strong effort. Thank you to the seniors, Elley Bennett, Macy Barthelemy, Lilly Kessler and Emma Nadler. They were strong leaders and teammates this year."
In the opening game, Robinson won over Fairfield, 38-23. Robinson will meet Carmi-White County for the regional championship Thursday at 7 p.m.
