St. Anthony Boys Still Stand At No. 1 In Latest State Polls

Effingham St. Anthony is still leading the Class 1A State Boys Basketball Poll this week.
The Bulldogs earned 14 first place votes. St. Anthony stands at 25-4 on the season with 158 points.
Although no local teams are in the rest of the boys polls, Apollo Conference rival Mount Zion is holding down fifth place in the Class 3A state poll. The Braves are 15-2 with 73 points.
In the girls polls, Effingham St. Anthony dropped into a tie for 10th place in the Class 1A poll. The Bulldogs have a 22-7 record and 15 points. They were previously ranked sixth in last week's poll.
Altamont also dropped in the 1A state poll from fifth to ninth place. The Indians are 22-5 on the season with 17 points.
Effingham remained in ninth place in the Class 3A girls poll. The Hearts are now 25-4 on the season after last night's win over Richland County and have 16 points.
