South Central Wins Girls Game, CHBC Falls

FARINA -- South Central High School pounded Webber Township (Bluford) in girls basketball action Saturday, 63-26.

The Cougars swept out to a 16-2 opening quarter lead as Taegan Webster scored seven points while Percilla Reid added five.

Webster continued on with 13 of her team's 19 second quarter points as the Cougars held a 35-12 halftime lead. Brooke Cowger chipped in with six points.

Webster scored 12 in the third quarter to finish with 32 for the game. She hit 15 field goals and was two of four at the line in the three quarters she played.

Cowger finished with eight points.

At Wayne City

North Clay (Louisville) captured a 46-31 victory over Wayne City in Saturday action.

The Cardinals are now 11-16 on the season and will be back in action today at Robinson.

 

At Flora

Flora played host to Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City and sent the Bobcats home with a 61-45 loss Saturday.

Flora edged out to a10-8 opening quarter lead behind the scoring of Payton Campos with eight points.

CHBC was led by Macee Rodman with five points.

The Wolves then went on an 18-4 second quarter run to lead 28-12 at halftime and had a 17-10 third quarter to lead 45-22.

CHBC came back with a 23-16 final period but it was not enough.

Campos finished with 21 points for Flora while Kat Jennings added 15 and Leah Jones 14.

The Bobcats were led by Rodman and Ruby Stuckemeyer with 13 points each. The bright spot in the game was Rodman reached her 1,000th career point for the Bobcats.
