St. A Boys Move Into 1A Top Spot, Altamont Fifth, St. A Girls Sixth In 1A, EHS Girls Ninth In 3A Polls

The boys and girls high school state polls were released for this week.
The Effingham St. Anthony boys team moved from third in last week's poll into the No. 1 spot in the state in Class 1A. The Bulldogs, at the point the poll was voted on, sported a 22-3 record and had 120 points.
In the others receiving votes category in 1A, Dieterich has four votes and Altamont has one.
In the girls poll, two National Trail Conference teams are five and six in the Class 1A state poll. Altamont sits at No. 5 with a 22-4 record and 27 points. They were fifth last week.
Effingham St. Anthony moved up from eighth in the poll to the No. 6 spot with a 21-6 record and 26 points.
Teutopolis is in the others receiving votes category in Class 2A with one vote.
Effingham remained in the ninth spot in the Class 3A state poll. The Hearts had a 24-4 record with 17 points.
