Bulldogs, Shoes Capture Saturday Boys BB Victories

St. Joseph-Ogden ran out to a 23-14 opening quarter lead on the Bulldogs. Tanner Jacob put in 10 points.
But here came the Bulldogs. Collin Westendorf, who scored five in the opening quarter, went on a run with three baskets and two free throws for eight points while Brady Hatton also went on an eight point run, knocking in four baskets. Ryan Schmidt connected on a three and the Bulldogs were within 34-29 at halftime.
St. Anthony then put together a 16-12 third quarter to move into a 55-46 lead. Six players scored in the contest.
The final quarter was a march to the free throw line for St. Anthony. The Bulldogs hit 21 of 22 free throws in the period. Westendorf went on a 14 point run, connecting on a regular basket, a three-pointer and nine of 10 at the line. Brock Fearday hit six of six free throws. Nick Ruholl connected on four of four.
St. Anthony was led by Westendorf with eight field goals, one a three-pointer, and 13 of 19 at the line for 30 points.
Also in double figures, B. Fearday tallied 16 and Hatton added 12.
St. Anthony finished from the free throw line hitting a whopping 31 of 37 for 83.7 percent.
Jacob ended with 27 points for St. Joseph-Ogden
In the junior varsity game, St. Anthony was a 71-48 winner. Four Bulldogs finished in double figures. Will Fearday led with 16 points while Keenan Griffith and Henry Brent added 15 each and Aiden Lauritzen had 10.

At Teutopolis
Teutopolis streaked out to a 21-14 opening quarter lead and went on for a 63-49 victory over Prairie Central Saturday.
The Wooden Shoes held a 37-29 halftime lead then had a 26-20 second half.
Three players scored in double digits for the Shoes. Alex Kremer led the way with seven field goals, two of those three-pointers, and two of two at the line for 18. Garrett Gaddis and Joey Niebrugge added 10 points each.
J. Niebrugge and Austin Bloemer pulled down seven rebounds each.
In the junior vasrity contest, T-town captured a 70-41 victory. The Shoes were led by Landyn Thoele with 17 and Jake Bushur with 11.
